There is no guarantee any of us will be alive in 5 years or 1 year or 3 years or 10 years. Yet all of us assume and talk and act like we will be alive at some obscure time in the future. Then we will live life. Then we will do our most important work. Then we will do the things we want to do. Then we will be present and enjoy the moment. Then we will enjoy our lives. Then we will be at peace.
You can die of cancer at any age. The amount of people I know who died of cancer at 30 or 35 or 20 or 15 or even just too early in life is astounding.
It’s good to remind ourselves of this as we age. It helps us stay present to what really matters, be grateful, appreciative, and more content.
Death is all around us. Human bodies are fragile. It’s really easy to die. It’s not that hard to die. We are all very vulnerable and more vulnerable than we will admit.
The small layer of Earths atmosphere is not that thick. It’s just a small thin layer protecting us from the elements of outer space. -400 temps and being sucked out into blank empty cold space.
We’re on a planet that just dangles there staying in orbit in the middle of nowhere. Who knows why it stays in orbit an doesn’t fling off into outer space and the blank nothingness.
The human body gets cancer every single day but your immune system kills it. Without your immune system and killer t-cells you would be dead of cancer in one week.
People die unexpectedly every day. Freak accident. Slip and fall. Car accident. Unexpected heart attack at 35.
Maybe take some time once a week and remind yourself of this often. Remain centered and present and appreciate.
We are only here for a short period of time and then we never exist again. Not only that but we can die at any time and age in our lives. There is no guarantee. Car accidents. Freak accidents. Cancer. Human bodies are fragile. Its not that hard to die. Its easy. Enjoy your life. Don’t sweat the small stuff and let things go.
